Flowers remind us of the transient cycles of life.
Birth, growth, reproduction and death.
Flowers are deeply embedded within rites of passage rituals across global cultures.
We embrace flowers as our creative muse.
For over 3 decades I have worked in the photography industry with studios in Hong Kong, Los Angeles and Las Vegas creating advertising imagery for Rock Stars, Fashion Labels and leading Hoteliers around the world.
In 2020 due to the pandemic my husband and I decided to return to my birthplace Auckland, New Zealand. Unable to travel I pivoted my focus to embrace the Divas of the floral stage. The ephemeral, sensual, spiritual and captivating flower.
My floral experience includes two years of Open Polytechnic courses with diplomas for Level 2 & 3, intermediate floristry and horticulture endorsed by NZPF & NZIH. Working part time for a year at Twig & Bloom, Matakana and six months on wedding events with Where Rosemary Grows from her sustainable flower farm north of Auckland.
Early in 2025 I completed the Sustainable Flower Networks foundation course. That promotes circular economies and business practices in the floral industry. The move away from plastics, sourcing flowers locally or through fair trade certified sustainable networks.
Working as a floral stylist and photographer has allowed me to develop a new direction, connecting with nature, creating a harmony and transient connection with flowers and the beauty they bring to our lives.
Our planet is our sanctuary and as a floral stylist I believe we have a unique position as ambassadors of nature to practice sustainability and educate with our work practices.
